The Core is a South Florida/New York based record production team consisting of Willy “Wyll” Mitial and his twin brother William Mitial. The brothers got their start by singing in the youth choir and watching musicians play during Sunday services in the church they attended. Soon they would start writing and recording their own music on cassette tapes owned by older siblings. “I just wanted to make music” said Wyll. He added “I started to sing, rap and record myself banging on anything I could find”. Prior moving to the U.S. in 2000, the brothers saw their dream facing them and they started to reach for it. During their high school years, Wyll and William started to get more positive feedback and recognition for work they have done like “Let’s Start The Party” with Houston singer Armana and “Freak” with Re`von, also from
Houston, Texas. After working with a few artists from other states, they wanted to take it back home. So they started working with Abdias Laguerre from Bel-Air Entertainment. Through Abdias, the duo met a friend of him whom went on to create Lux Entertainment with them and a group called 20Twenty. Lux Entertainment gave them the opportunity to work with American artists like Rick Ross and Plies. After producing the hit single “Hood Wit It” for Phatboi and appearing on in South Florida Magazine, the street buzz started to grow. The went to produce the club hit “Kodak Moment” for 20twenty which almost got a record deal with Jive Records, one of the biggest American record label. The Core continued to make
hits like “I’m A Zoe” by Phatboi feat Dr. Zoe and Mecca aka Grimo which got a lot of good reviews. The Core is now finishing up their first Rap Kreyol Album featuring. The release date is set for later this year.
