R.O.C  was born Rockfeller Cadet in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on October 19, 1985. He grew up in Fontamara which is a small section of the city of Port-Au-Prince, he went to College Roger Anglade, a very well known school in P-A-P. That’s where he met Jean Wilfrid Lauture and that’s how it all began. Lauture was one of R.O.C classmates, he used to b-box in class when the teachers were absent and that’s how they came with the idea of freestyle sessions every time a teacher didn’t show up. A few of the students used to always participate but R.O.C was never one of the few. One day, the grammar teacher had  an emergency and couldn’t  make it to class and as usual, it was freestyle time: Lauture started the beat and this other kid named Gael started rapping, Gael did his thing for about two minutes then he stopped but Lauture kept going with the beat, so R.O.C jumped on, everybody was quiet for little while because they didn’t know that Cadet(R.O.C) could rap but  after the first couple punchlines , everybody started cheering for him and the rest is history ……
In November 2001, R.O.C moved to the States. Although he lost touch with Lauture and most of his old classmates , he never gave up on rapping, he’s skilled and he considers it as a gift and that’s why he raps. The kid is obviously gifted.
